Leaders On and Off Stage came out of research Jane Booth and I undertook in Autumn 2019, just before the outbreak of the global pandemic. It primarily focuses on orchestral culture and supporting our professional musicians and management to be at their best when it matters most.

May 2024 – begin roll out of an adapted version of Leaders On and Off Stage to BBC orchestras across calendar year 2024
Spring 2024 – Jane Booth’s latest research on the impact and evaluation of our leadership progamme, Leaders On and Off Stage, is published in the European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s (EMCC) newsletter.

Spring 2023 – begin roll out of Leaders On and Off Stage at the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
October-November 2022 – Cohort 3 (funded by European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC)) takes place
October 2021 – Trudy Wright invited to be the keynote speaker in October 2021 at the Nordic Orchestra Conference, Oslo
October-November 2021 – Cohort 2 takes place

April 2021 – Jane Booth and Trudy Wright are invited to share their research findings online at the Maastricht Centre for the Innovation of Classical Music’s Digital Symposium, Towards 2040: Creating Classical Music Futures:
October 2020 – Cohort 1 takes place online in the middle of the pandemic
January 2020 – Jane Booth and Trudy Wright present their research findings around the desirability for leadership training within the UK orchestral community at Milton Court, Guildhall School of Music & Drama. This research led to us creating a 3 day leadership programme, initially for principal orchestral players and creative leaders called Leaders On and Off Stage. Our ultimate aim is to roll this out across the entire orchestra.
